Reminder of NAGVA Referee & Scorekeeper Certification
Changes
Effective August 30, 2008, all certification exams are available to be taken
online. At this point, tournaments will NOT be required
continue offering clinics, so it will be important that each team ensure that
they have both a certified official and scorekeeper before attending the
tournament.
The new process is easy! Here are the steps:
2. Email that NAGVA VP of Officials, Jonathan Daclison, at
officials@nagva.org
and request to take either the refereeing, scorekeeping, or both exams. An
e-mail link will also be available at
www.nagva.org. NOTE - Players must contact the VP of Official no less than
10 days before attending the tournament.
3. The NAGVA VP of Officials will reply back with the required information to
log on to the secured test website and take that exam. The alloted exam time
is 60 minutes.
4. The VP of Officials will e-mail once the exam is taken with the exam
results. If a member does not pass, they will be able to take the exam again.
5. The member must still be evaluated onsite at the tournament to confirm as
the second (or practical) part of the certification. Players that need
to be evaluated must contact the Tournament Director in order to be evaluated.
The tournaments will then facilitate the evaluation and report the
results to NAGVA. Upon passing both the online exam and practical, that
member's profile will be updated with the certification information.
6. Certification card will be sent out to members who successfully complete
the refereeing or scorekeeping exams and practicals.
7. Players who are currently USAV Certified Referees will be exempt from the
NAGVA R1 and Scorekeeping requirements as long as he/she contacts the VP of
Officials via e-mail and provides the following information: Full Name,
Region, Current Ranking and Region Chair Name.
